* Screwing in the dipstick would damage the engine. The dipstick tube is designed to be a simple access point for the dipstick, and forcing the dipstick in could damage the tube or even the engine block.
To check the oil level on a Tecumseh 10 hp engine:
1. Locate the dipstick. It will typically be on the side or top of the engine, usually marked with a symbol of an oil drop.
2. Pull the dipstick out completely.
3. Wipe the dipstick clean with a rag.
4. Insert the dipstick fully back into the tube.
5. Pull the dipstick out again.
6. Check the oil level. The oil should be at the "Full" mark on the dipstick. If it's below the "Full" mark, add oil until it reaches the "Full" mark.
